Elle Wayne, Circus Artist

About Elle

Elle Wayne is an Orlando-based aerialist and multidisciplinary circus artist specializing in lyra, aerial frame, dance trapeze, and silks. Her work is grounded in character-driven storytelling, combining technical precision with theatrical sensibility, musicality, and strong visual composition. Her expressive, whimsical, sometimes dark acts have captivated audiences everywhere from intimate cabaret theatres to immersive events to large festival stages.

Elle’s performance background spans circus arts, theatre, dance, and performance art, giving her a versatile and collaborative approach to creative work. She holds a BFA in Theatre with a focus on production, with experience in directing, playwriting, sound design, and properties design. This foundation allows her to approach performance not only as an artist but as a storyteller and designer, contributing to the overall vision of a piece or production.

Education and Experience

Elle’s foundation in the performing arts began in childhood with ballet and gymnastics, eventually expanding into theatre and musical performance. She began her circus training in 2016 at Gainesville Circus Center, where quickly found a home in the air. Here, she studied a wide range of disciplines including tumbling, group acrobatics, partner balancing, and multiple aerial apparatuses. Her primary apparatuses—lyra, silks, and trapeze—quickly became the focus of her performance work, with regular appearances in both solo and duo acts. She is experienced in ensemble-based choreography as well, including group acrobatics and hula hoop.

After relocating to Orlando, Elle continued her aerial training at Orlando Aerial Arts, focusing primarily on lyra, silks, hammock, and trapeze.

Elle’s diverse performance experience includes immersive art events, scripted circus theatre, and variety shows throughout Central Florida. She is known for her outside-the-box acts on aerial frame, her fusion of aerial dance with burlesque, and her mythology-inspired silks acts.

In 2023, Elle joined Suspended Artistry, the pre-professional aerial company at Orlando Aerial Arts. With the troupe, she appears annually in Creative City Project’s IMMERSEFest, the Central Florida Kids & Family Expo, and Celebration’s “Now Snowing” tree-lighting ceremony.

Performance Style

Elle’s performance style ranges from whimsical and fantastical to dark and atmospheric, often drawing on mythology, literary themes, and pop culture references. She is known for her attention to detail in character development, costuming, and movement quality, as well as her ability to blend multiple disciplines into cohesive, narrative-driven acts. Recent projects include multidisciplinary pieces incorporating aerial silks with stage combat and contemporary dance, as well as character-based acts performed on dance trapeze and lyra.

Elle was also a cast member of Corsets and Cuties, one of Orlando’s premier burlesque troupes, where she enjoyed the incredible opportunity to blend aerial dance with the art of the tease. Notable performances include lollipop lyra at Come Out with Pride and her Haunted Mansion dark fantasy act on aerial frame. Elle is a two-time graduate of Orlando’s Burlesque Conservatory and debuted her tarot-inspired aerial silks burlesque act in the 2024 ceremony.

She has since performed throughout Central Florida in immersive experiences, themed entertainment, scripted circus productions, and cabaret and burlesque shows. Her apparatus repertoire includes aerial lyra, lollipop lyra, silks, aerial frame, and dance trapeze.

Notable acts include a comedic dance-trapeze act as Captain Jack Sparrow, a circus interpretation of Barbra Streisand’s iconic “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” and “The Tale of Persephone,” a multidisciplinary production blending an aerial silks duet with stage combat and contemporary dance.

Elle is available for solo, duo, and ensemble performances, and is particularly well-suited for immersive events, theatrical productions, and concept-driven variety shows seeking performers with a strong narrative and visual presence.
