Elle Wayne is a multidisciplinary circus artist, performer, educator, and costume designer based in Orlando, Florida. Her work bridges theatre, circus, and cabaret, combining technical precision with a strong narrative and visual sensibility. Whether in the air or behind the scenes, she embraces storytelling in her craft—building fully realized characters through movement, design, and atmosphere.
Biography
Elle began her movement training at age seven with ballet and gymnastics before expanding into musical theatre and dramatic performance. She later earned a BFA in Theatre with a focus on directing, playwriting, and design. This foundation continues to inform her work, shaping both her performance style and her approach to visual composition.
Following graduation, Elle became an active member of Gainesville’s theatre community. In addition to founding DreamQuilt Productions in Gainesville, FL, she worked as Assistant Costume Designer at the historic Hippodrome Theatre, where she also taught aspiring thespians at the annual summer camp. She was also a board member, director, and production manager at the Acrosstown Repertory Theatre.
Her work gradually shifted toward movement-based storytelling, exploring forms ranging from Brazilian samba to interdisciplinary performance art. She developed original acts for open mics and variety shows, blending vocals, puppetry, and contemporary dance into character-driven pieces.
In 2016, Elle discovered circus arts at Gainesville Circus Center and began training silks, trapeze, lyra, and partner acrobatics. She quickly began performing both solo and ensemble works, developing a style defined by fluid transitions, strong lines, and theatrical presence.
She also founded a burlesque troupe, creating acts that fused aerial, dance, and performance art with striptease.
After relocating to Orlando, Elle continued her aerial training at Orlando Aerial Arts, focusing on lyra, silks, hammock, and trapeze. In 2023, she joined Suspended Artistry, OAA’s pre-professional aerial company, and has regularly performed at Creative City Project’s IMMERSEFest, the Central Florida Kids & Family Expo, and Celebration’s “Now Snowing.”
Elle currently performs circus arts throughout Central Florida in immersive events, theatrical productions, and cabaret and burlesque shows. Her apparatuses include aerial lyra, lollipop lyra, silks, aerial frame, and dance trapeze.
Alongside her performance career, Elle has continued to develop her work as a costume designer and builder. Her performance experience shapes her approach to design approach as she embraces a blend of pizzazz and versatility—particularly for aerial and movement-based work. She has designed costumes for theatre productions at Theater West End and for independent circus and cabaret artists.
Elle’s Circus Creations and Ecdysiast Elements produce costume pieces for aerialist and burlesque dancers, respectively, balancing structural integrity with expressive design. Her work features bold silhouettes, textured materials, and detailed embellishments that enhance character while supporting movement.
Elle currently works in costuming at Universal Orlando Resort, contributing to large-scale entertainment productions. Her primary project is the groundbreaking stunt show The Bourne Stuntacular.
She is available for performance, coaching, and costume design or construction, and is especially drawn to collaborative projects that value storytelling, strong visual identity, and interdisciplinary performance.
